What You Give

There are three main ways Quantified Startup gets inputs from company employees. No matter what information is shared with Quantified Startup, QS will never share that information with the employer, unless it is in a completely anonymous, aggregated way. In other words, your data is your data and your boss will never have any access to it.


Daily Mood Polling

At the end of each day, every employee is prompted with a message (either via SMS or Slack) asking them to rate that day on a scale of 1-10. Employees are able to either respond to the message or click on a link to a secure site to record their mood.

This mood is kept confidential and secure and will never be shared with yourr employer.

End of Day Journaling

Employees are able to quickly and easily go through their day and rank events they experienced (meetings, calls, coffees, etc) by clicking on one of two buttons "Happy" or "Not Happy". Employees will also be able to journal about any specific event more extensively in a text box. Again, all this information is kept confidential and will never be shared with the employer or anyone else.

Currently, this information will be imported daily from Google Calendar.

Quantified Days

Do you drink a lot of coffee or tea? Eat a couple of bowls of soup a day? Whatever your ritual is, you can easily store that information by texting or Slacking Quantified Startup with what you are doing, when you are doing it.

At the end of the month, you'll be able to see exactly how many coffees you drank, soups you've slurped, miles you've run, and how each of those things had helped your mood on any given day. We also will let you know how many meetings you've had, hours you've worked, and other really interesting information about your life.

All this information is kept strictly confidential.

The Psychological Benefits

There are multiple benefits of using the Quantified Startup system.

1. You get to express emotion - if you are having a really hard time in something, you get to do something about it and share your feeling.

2. You get to live in the moment, but to measure it for the long term. Our recall bias helps us forget things, at times.  With our quantification, we can remind you how something affected you and prompt you with some tactics to avoid the same thing again.

3. You get to process information during journaling. Why was that meeting so frustrating? Using our system, you can work through the aspects that bothered you and be cognizant of it for the future.

If you have a problem, we'll give you a couple of options of ways that are suggested to deal with an issue that seems to be bugging you. You can then choose which way you want to try and we will help you track your progress in it. 


Were you supposed to remember to wake up early Monday mornings for a run before the 9am meeting? We'll automatically set a calendar reminder for you. Or does scheduling more than 6 meetings a day have adverse reactions to you? We'll catch that in your calendar and see if you want to change it.
